Progynova is equivalent to natural 17 beta-estradiol which is found in Estrace.

Estrace contains micronized 17-beta-estradiol.

Progynova patches are oval transparent patches with a self-adhesive backing which can be stuck to the skin.

Progynova TS 50 is a patch with an area of 12.5 square centimetres containing 3.8 milligrams of estradiol, an oestrogen, (formed from 3.9 milligrams estradiol hemihydrate). Your body will absorb about 50 micrograms of estradiol each day whilst you are wearing a Progynova TS 50 patch.

Each sealed pouch contains one Progynova TS 50 patch.

Progynova TS 50 patches are a form of oestrogen replacement therapy.

Progynova is equivalent to natural 17 beta-oestradiol which is found in Estrace. It is generally well-tolerated, and clinical data from postmenopausal women suggest it is safer than ethinyloestradiol for long-term use, with less risk of breast cancer, thromboembolic events or liver problems

Main Use

Climacteric complaints after cessation of monthly bleeding or deficiency symptoms after oophorectomy or radiological castration for non-carcinomatous diseases, such as hot flushes, outbreaks of sweat, sleep disturbances, depressive moods, irritability, headaches, dizziness, bladder irritation, signs of muco-cutaneous involution.

Dosage and Administration

Before starting Progynova, a thorough general medical and gynaecological examination (including the breasts and a cytological smear of the cervix) should be carried out.

As a precaution, clinical follow-up should be conducted at intervals of about 6 months.
